Olamot Guidelines
Olamot – School of Jewish Studies and Israeli Culture: Information for Students Regarding Registration for Olamot Courses
Beginning with the 2024–2025 academic year, all students, including continuing students, are permitted to select from the full range of courses offered by Olamot – the School of Jewish Studies and Israeli Culture, within the course cluster on the Inbar system. Please note that only courses predefined as Olamot courses will be recognized as such.

Students should stay informed of updates to the information and guidelines applicable to those beginning their studies in the 2026–2027 academic year. For clarification of Olamot study requirements pertaining to specific degree programs, please consult the information and guidelines relevant to the applicable degree framework.
Registration for Olamot Courses
Registration for Olamot courses is conducted independently by each student during the designated registration periods for courses opened in the Inbar system and is subject to available space in the course. Registration is not possible for courses that have reached full capacity.
Passing Grade
The passing grade for Olamot courses is a numerical grade of 60 or above; this requirement applies to doctoral students as well.
Importance of Class Attendance
Attendance is mandatory. The School places great importance on students' regular attendance in class and on direct engagement with instructors, as consistent attendance supports deep and meaningful learning. In accordance with University regulations, students are permitted up to two absences per semester in Olamot courses. Absences exceeding this limit may result in the forfeiture of the right to sit for the course examination.
Special Circumstances:
- Military Reserve Duty or Illness – Supporting documentation must be submitted to the instructor immediately upon returning to studies.
- Other Attendance-Related Difficulties – Students should contact the instructor as soon as possible.
It is important to address any attendance-related issue in real time, rather than postponing it until the end of the semester, in order to avoid complications and any adverse impact on academic progress.

For students' convenience, the School offers a range of online courses. Detailed information about these courses is available on the website of Olamot –School of Jewish Studies and Israeli Culture.
Verifying Remaining Olamot Requirements
It is the student's responsibility to confirm, throughout the course of their studies and particularly as they approach degree completion, that they have fulfilled all Olamot study requirements. Students may contact the Olamot School office via the inquiry form to clarify outstanding requirements and steps needed for completion.
